John Arthur Davis

John Arthur Davis, a resident of Prague, Oklahoma passed away peacefully at his home in Prague on Saturday, January 17, 2026. John was born on May 25, 1952 in Skowhegan, Maine to Robert Waugh and June (Bailey) Waugh.

Following high school John joined the US Marines. John served his country faithfully before receiving his honorable discharge.

John's primary job was as a truck driver, and he drove thousands of miles during his career. John met his best friend, who shared driving duties with him. He later made a commitment to Patsy Slattery, and they became inseparable and they always enjoyed their time together. John loved raising cattle and was an avid woodworker.

He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Waugh; his mother, June Bailey Waugh; a nephew, Edward Davis; and 2 nieces, Belinda and Stacey Davis.

He is survived by his life-partner, Patsy Slattery of the home; a sister, Floan VanHoose of Brazoria, Texas; 2 brothers, Richard Perkins & wife Joyce of Waterville, Maine and Paul Davis of Prague, OK; several nieces and nephews; other extended family and many good friends.

Following cremation, the family indicates they will host a Celebration of Life service. Arrangements were provided by McElyea & Owens Funeral Group of Shawnee.
