Marvin H Fletcher a resident of Shawnee, Oklahoma, passed away in Shawnee on Monday, January 26, 2026 surrounded by his family. Marvin was born on June 13, 1931 In Oklahoma City, OK to Vern E. Fletcher and Ludie M. Hawkins Fletcher.
Following his high school graduation, Marvin attended OSU (formerly known as Oklahoma A&M), obtaining his Bachelor's degree in geology. Marvin entered the US Army upon graduating and served his country in Germany as a helicopter pilot. After achieving the rank of First Lieutenant and his honorable discharge, he entered the insurance industry. His professional career in insurance continued for the remainder of his life before retiring and resulted in moving to several states including Oklahoma, Nebraska, Florida and Alabama.
Marvin kept himself active in life. He loved chess, softball, hunting and fishing.
He is preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, 1 brother, and a daughter, Mary K Baker.
Marvin is survived by a son, Ken Fletcher and his wife Rezeda; a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Holley and husband Dean; a daughter, Jane Chouinard and husband Jay; a daughter, Martha Jones and husband Joe; 15 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren and numerous other extended family and many good friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at Meeker First Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Jones and Rev. Kenneth Fletcher officiating.
